Ahead of its debut at Universal Studios Japan this summer, Nintendo gives us a look at the upcoming Super Nintendo World with a music video.
Nintendo’s last few years have been some of its best yet thanks to the success of the Nintendo Switch and a host of critical and commercially successful games. However, Nintendo has had its eye on more than just games as well, as this year will finally see the opening of its anticipated theme park called Super Nintendo World. The upcoming theme park, which is set to open sometime this summer at Universal Studios Japan, is aiming to bring the joy and fun of video games to life, and a new music video will give a look at what you can expect from the park.
Nintendo has released a new music video called “We Are Born to Play,” which features an original song and music by Galantis and Charli XCX. The video itself is mostly CGI and doesn’t contain footage of the theme park (which is still under construction), but the video is meant more to give a sense of tone and ideas of what the park is aiming to bring to attendees in real life. It also happens to be a pretty catchy tune, so there is that as well.
What the video does show though are some of the video game elements that parkgoers will be able to experience while visiting the park. Specifically, that includes a wristlet that attendees will wear that allows them to play games and go on rides that give them coins to compete with friends. Bloomberg‘s Kurumi Mori shared some of this information following a presentation from Nintendo at the upcoming theme park, and highlighted the “Power Up Bands” and an interactive map app that attendees can use to enjoy the park:
